With the conviction that through volunteering is also possible to create the future we want for ourselves and the new generations, Grupo Nutresa celebrated the International Volunteer Day with the joining of more than 1,300 hands.
For four years in a row during the months of November and December, Grupo Nutresa has come together to participate in the activities of International Volunteer Day, seeking to celebrate all the volunteer actions that transform realities and build new opportunities for less – favored communities.
With “The Power of One Thousand”, each year Grupo Nutresa employees come together for a single cause: to create a better future among all and celebrate solidarity. Following are the results of this program across the countries and regions the company operates:
The United States: 27 Volunteers – construction of homes for low – income persons
Mexico: 61 Volunteers – Activities to support the Food Bank
El Salvador: 14 Volunteers – Recreational activities with children
Costa Rica: 43 Volunteers – Support for those affected by Hurricane Otto
Guatemala: 25 Volunteers – Donation of gifts to the United Fund of Guatemala
Nicaragua: 15 Volunteers – Recreation for children at a shelter
Panama: 20 Volunteers – Planting trees for environmental conservation
The Dominican Republic: 102 Volunteers – Donating food for communities impacted by the rains in the Región del Cibao
Ecuador: 26 Volunteers – Intervention in the infrastructure in a shelter for street children and adolescents
Chile: 34 Volunteers – Collection of funds for the Telethon in different locations
Peru: 40 Volunteers – Implementation of a bio – garden in Aldeas Infantiles S. O. S.
Colombia: A total of 919 Volunteers
With their great contribution and willingness, Grupo Nutresa Volunteers in Colombia contributed to improving the social conditions of the communities near our plants. In the cities of Bogota, Medellin, Santa Marta and Barranquilla, as well as in the departments of Antioquia and Cauca, the company embarked in several activities, such as cleaning, weeding, painting, restoring and building parks.
